Welcome to Our New Gate System!
We're excited to introduce our enhanced gate access system to Lakeview Preserve and hope you'll find it as beneficial as we do. As we implement this new technology, we're continuously learning and adapting to ensure the best experience for our community. You can read through the ButterflyMX Tenant User Guide for instructions.
Important Information for Property Owners
We've uploaded our owner database to the system, though some adjustments may be needed as we fine-tune the setup.
Responsibility & Accountability: Gate access is now able to be traced to specific homes. It is your responsibility to use this system with care and caution. You are responsible for any parties you are giving access to in the neighborhood. If anyone that traces back to your home does any damage to the property or violates rules, you will be held responsible.
Getting Started
Email Address Required The ButterflyMX system requires a valid email address to send your app invitation. If you haven't received your invitation, we may not have a current email address on file for you. Please contact us with your updated email information.
Directory Information We've done our best to match names, email addresses, and phone numbers in our records. If any information needs to be updated or corrected, please let us know as soon as possible using the form below.
Account Management
Single vs. Multiple Accounts You have flexibility in how you set up your account:
Single Account: Create one login that multiple family members can use across different devices. If you choose this option, when someone calls from the main gate, it will ring on all devices logged into the app with your account.
Multiple Accounts: If you prefer to have more than one owner listed in the directory, you can have a maximum of 3 names listed per address, but additional listings should be for property owners only. Please see our separate guidelines for renter access.
Visitor Passes: You can now create visitor passes for many different scenarios. The recipient you are granting access to will receive a QR code that can be scanned at the gate.
Recurring Access: This is for family members, friends or caregivers that you wish to provide ongoing access to without having them log into your app. You can set a schedule for their access, but if you would like to provide them with 24/7 access, you will need to select all 7 days and 12AM-11:59PM. It appears that the maximum length of time that can be setup is 1 year.
Vendor Access: You can select “Business Hours” if you would like to provide access to a vendor during specific hours/days of the week. You can also select “Full-Day Use” to provide someone, such as a visitor or vendor, access for the entire day. Please take caution to only authorize the use of the main gate for Vendors, not the use of the Amenities.
One-Time Pass: This is to be used for someone to get into the gate for a single occurrence—such as a repair person for example. Please take caution to only authorize the use of the main gate for Vendors, not the use of the Amenities.
Delivery Passes: This should be self-explanatory. Please use this option for deliveries.
Privacy Options You can choose to have app access without being listed in the directory. If you prefer this option, please let us know and we can remove your name from the directory listing, but your access will not change.
For Renters
Renters will need to contact their Landlord asking them to reach out to us with your information. We will need the name you wish to use for the Directory, phone number, email address and termination date of your lease. Your listing will expire unless your landlord informs us that the lease is renewed and what the new termination date will be. We MUST receive all of this information from the Landlord directly.
Windshield Tags
As a one time occurrence, each household is entitled to two windshield stickers (they open the gates without the need for a button) at no charge for this initial distribution. You will not be able to gift your free windshield tag(s) to a neighbor.
We will schedule times when you can come to pick up your free tags. Each tag will be tied to a particular car and license plate. You will need to install the sticker onto your car at the time of pickup and the volunteer owners will record that they witnessed the installation on the car and they will record household information and the license plate number. You cannot pickup a sticker for another car in your household without bringing the car since the volunteer will need to witness the installation onto the second car. We anticipate some complaints about this, but it is required and there will be no exceptions.
If you change cars, you will need to purchase new stickers as the stickers cannot be removed and moved to another car.
There will be a low cost (we haven’t set the price yet) for the Windshield stickers after this initial distribution. We will allow a couple of months to get your 2 free windshield stickers, but after this time, there will be a cost. Because we know someone will ask…the reason is that it would be more work for Management to track if you picked up the sticker before, and Management companies charge for any additional work that they perform.
After the initial distribution of the windshield stickers, additional stickers will be available to purchase from Management.
We will allow owners who rent out their homes to grant their renters their 2 free stickers to their tenants instead.
Answers to Common Questions:
Yes, we will provide the school buses with access.
We will provide access to HOA vendors that are contracted by the HOA—and we collect Certificates of Insurance naming the HOA as additional insured for all of our vendors. For your personal vendors, it is up to you to provide them with Vendor Access. Remember, you are responsible for whomever you grant access to in the neighborhood.
